About Matt

Matt is a downtown area resident and bilingual community leader who is passionate about making Charlottetown a better place to live. He is a policy advisor with a national advocacy organization that works with local governments across Canada, and has helped shape federal investments in infrastructure, public transit, and housing affordability.

Outside of work, Matt is the President of Fusion Charlottetown, a volunteer group that supports youth and young adults in PEI’s capital region, where he has led successful advocacy efforts to improve access to home ownership programs for young people, protect agricultural lands across the Island, and reinstate the Premier’s Youth Council. Additionally, Matt serves as a member of the Tracadie Community Centre Board, where he helped support events at the hall, build an outdoor rink, and secure funding for renewable energy projects. 

Matt has a bachelor’s degree in public affairs and policy management from Carleton University, and a master’s degree in public policy and administration from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
